Sales Account Manager

Due to increased demand for their product, our well-established client is now seeking a Sales Account Manager to support the growth of their print media business across Devon.

The successful candidate will focus sales efforts on increasing demand for adverts and/or inserts in the company’s magazine, which is distributed across Devon monthly. As the world turns towards social media, the magazine has proven to be increasingly popular amongst the residents of Devon. It provides something very rare these days: a hard-copy magazine! The company also offers website development services to small businesses. Therefore, business customers are offered a unique opportunity that is hard to find elsewhere in the region.

Salary

£26k (including £250 per month car allowance) plus commission, OTE £40k.

Location

Exeter, Devon (hybrid/remote working)

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm

Type of Role

We are open to considering candidates for both full-time and part-time positions. Additionally, we welcome candidates who are interested in working four days a week.

The Role

Key duties include:

  • Reaching out to prospective clients via the telephone
  • Getting past the gatekeeper to ensure that you are speaking to the decision maker
  • Composing business-like emails to clients
  • Undertaking in-person client meetings
  • Objection handling and negotiating where necessary
  • Closing sales.

(It is down to the candidate how they perform sales and whether they undertake sales remotely or in person)

Company benefits: £250 per month car allowance, home office equipment if required, mileage paid, mobile phone, laptop, and initial company-specific training.

The Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have previous sales experience within print media, or a relatable industry (although this is not essential).
  • Possess a proven track record in achieving targets, or clearly be able to demonstrate the value that they can bring to this role.
  • Be confident in speaking to clients over the phone and in person.
  • Have an adaptable communication style and be happy speaking to people are all levels (clients can be anyone from restaurant owners where English isn’t their first language to tradespeople, to professional service providers e.g. legal companies, financial services companies).
  • Be able to work fairly flexibly in terms of hours to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Be self-motivated and resilient
  • Have a personable and professional nature to represent the company in a good light
