Our client is growing, and they’re seeking a Fire and Security Engineer to join their Service & Maintenance team to support a new contract with Somerset Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a flexible and well-supported team in a role that strikes a balance between independence, technical challenge, and professional development.
Salary
£32k to £37k (depending on experience) plus on-call allowance: £90/week + time and a half for hours worked and travel.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:30 am to 4:30 pm).
Type of Role
The Role
As a Fire & Security Engineer, you’ll carry out:
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive callouts (including 24/7 on-call rota – approx. 1 in 5 weeks)
- Work on fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and remote signalling systems
- Support a diverse portfolio across commercial, public sector, and third-sector clients
The successful candidate will be mentored initially by an experienced local engineer and supported by our Cardiff-based head office team.

The Requirements
Candidates Should Have:
- Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems (CCTV/access control also desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- A proactive, professional, and honest approach
- Able to work independently and use your initiative
- Willingness to complete an advanced DBS
