Fire and Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer

Our client is looking for a skilled Fire & Security Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our team.

This role involves the installation, commissioning, and handover of fire and security systems to clients.

You will work on commercial and industrial projects, ensuring systems are installed to high standards and are compliant with relevant regulations.

Salary

£28k to £35k (depending on level of experience).

Location

Covering South Wales.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 730am to 4pm, plus on-call duties.

Type of Role

Full-time, permanent.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and hand over Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems.
  • Work from design drawings and specifications to ensure correct installation.
  • Program, test, and commission systems to ensure full operational capability and compliance with British Standards.
  • Provide training and system demonstrations to clients during the handover.
  • Complete all commissioning documentation, reports, and certificates accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are met on-site.

The Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience installing and commissioning Fire Detection and Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms).
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 5839, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133, and BS EN 50131.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Must be able to pass full security vetting (NPPV2 Full).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Industry-recognized qualifications in fire and security systems (e.g., FIA Units, manufacturer training).
  • Experience with equipment from various manufacturers (e.g., Advanced, Gent, Morley, Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom).
  • ECS/CSCS Card, IPAF/PASMA certification.
