We’re recruiting a Credit Controller to join our client’s friendly and collaborative finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a professional, stable and growing business.

Salary

£25k-£27k (depending on experience).

Location

Barnstaple, Devon (office-based).

Hours

Monday to Friday, 9 am-5 pm.

Type of Role

Full-time, permanent role. 26 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays (34 days per annum).

The Role

In this varied role, you’ll support the internal finance function and work closely with suppliers and colleagues to ensure smooth financial processes.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Managing and recovering outstanding payments professionally
  • Handling account and invoice queries via phone and email
  • Issuing renewals and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Investigating non-payments and negotiating payment plans where necessary
  • Supporting the customer service team and assisting with general office duties as needed

The Requirements

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re organised, proactive, and a great communicator.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Some experience in credit control or general finance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with finance or CRM systems is a plus.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage your personal workload independently.
  • A professional, friendly telephone manner and the ability to build strong working relationships.

Upon successful offer, A DBS and financial background check will be required.
