Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Farm Executive to join their team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid knowledge of the agricultural industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven sales and account management track record.

Salary

​£35k to £40k per annum plus bonuses.

Location

Halwill or Barnstaple, Devon.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 9 am-5 pm.

Type of Role

Full-time, permanent.

The Role

In this role, you’ll take charge of managing a diverse portfolio of farm accounts across North and West Devon. Your focus will be on account management (70% of the role) and new business development (30% of the role). You’ll support the existing customer base by offering tailored solutions, while also seeking out fresh opportunities for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Oversee and nurture a portfolio of around 150 farm accounts, ensuring top-notch client satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Sales Growth: Drive revenue within existing accounts by cross-selling and upselling a variety of agricultural products and services.
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to meet and exceed your targets.
  • Client Relationships: Build lasting relationships with clients, offering tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Market Analysis: Keep up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on your sales activities, account health, and progress towards achieving targets.
  • Membership Recruitment: Lead initiatives to drive membership recruitment for the National Farmers Union.

The Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3 years in sales, account management, or a similar role within the agricultural/farming industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of farm operations and agricultural products.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Proactive and Entrepreneurial: Ability to work independently, identify new opportunities, and manage your renewal book effectively.
  • Customer-Focused: Passionate about delivering exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field (desirable, but not essential).
