Our client, a rapidly growing London-based renewable energy development company, is seeking a Business Development Executive to support their exciting growth plans over the next two years.

They seek a professional, well-spoken and driven individual to join their experienced team and contribute to their next growth phase. They ideally require an individual with sales experience; however, they will consider a candidate without. The Business Development Executive will help expand the company’s sales pipeline by building relationships and generating leads with c-level executives within blue-chip companies such as Amazon and Coca-Cola.


£30k-£50k basic salary (depending on experience) plus commission with an OTE of £50k-£70k bonus.


Central London (NW8): candidates must be able to commute to the company’s location. This is an office-based role with very occasional remote working permitted.


Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm

The Role

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Business Development Executive will be responsible for the following:

  • Contributing to the rapid growth of the CEC business by sourcing new contracts from “Blue-Chip” Industrial and Commercial customers
  • Undertaking analytical research to identify decision-makers to contact
  • Contact with c-level executives will be made via email, the telephone, via Teams and some face-to-face meetings alongside a Commercial Manager.
  • Undertaking an initial with c-suite decision makers to gain their interest in CEC’s products/services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities before passing leads onto the Business Development Manager team
  • Setting up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and Business Development Managers
  • Utilising the company’s CRM tool, cold calling, and emailing to expand existing relationships and generate new sales opportunities
  • Reporting on KPIs to Commercial Director with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
  • Undertaking various tasks within Sales/Marketing/Finance as required.

Targets/KPIs: There are no targets/KPIs with this role as the company focus on quality, not quantity, and this is very much a consultative sales role with a focus on relationship building.

The Requirements

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ideally, 2-3 years of sales experience, with a history of exceeding KPI’s/targets
  • The company will consider entry-level salespeople who are driven, with a willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and other languages are an asset
  • Self-reliance, drive, entrepreneurial nature, well-spoken/articulate, passionate and calm when working under pressure
  • Ideally, experience in communicating with c-level executives
  • Candidates must take a consultative approach to sales rather than a hard sell
  • Team player with the ability to handle a flexible job role
  • Strong communication skills via phone, email and face-to-face
  • Ideally proficiency with Hubspot or other CRM software
  • Have a genuine interest or willingness to learn about renewable technology development and the UK energy markets.
